We wandered up the hill near Serena and Josh's house (actually, just behind Jennifer and Matt's house) to see the fireworks over Dodger stadium. The walk over was the most surreal experience I've ever had; laughing kids while their parents launched illegal fireworks all over the place. The air smelled of gunpowder, and every two to three minutes, a loud whistling bang would happen near us. Fireworks would trace patterns over our heads, and the occasional exceptionally loud boom would cause Gobi the dog to bark reflexively. Not for the faint of heart.
And it also looks like the lens I used to take these pictures was a bit too heavy for my tripod, hence the wobblies. Still, good times.
